Called a humanoid development platform, it targets robotics researchers, educators, and commercial teams working on next‑generation “embodied AI” rather than companies focused solely on factories or warehouses.

Fauna designed Sprout around safety and approachability, emphasizing human‑friendly forms over industrial strength. Its exterior is padded with soft materials and engineered to reduce dangerous pinch points and impact forces — crucial for robots expected to work around people, including in settings like retail, hospitality, or public spaces. 

Toast‑like expressive LED face and mechanical eyebrows, plus body language cues, help the robot communicate in ways that feel intuitive and inviting — characteristics often missing from rigid, humanoid machines. It’s also capable of basic locomotion (walking, kneeling, crawling), navigation, and interaction right out of the box, letting developers focus on higher‑level tasks rather than reinventing the robot’s core software stack.
