In March 2025, Digital Jersey launched an exciting six-week pilot programme, Coding Through Robotics, at Bel Royal School. This initiative aims to introduce Year 6 students to coding and robotics, helping them develop essential digital skills. By using 'BBC Micro:bits'—small programmable computers—students engage in hands-on activities that enhance their problem-solving, logical thinking, and programming abilities.

Free Access to a Future-Ready Curriculum
The curriculum, designed by the Digital Jersey Academy, is freely available to all teachers in Jersey. Educators can also request live sessions, ensuring that students across the island benefit from expert-led learning. Rory Steel, Head of Academy at Digital Jersey, emphasized that structured coding education encourages creativity and critical thinking, preparing students for a future where digital literacy is crucial.

This programme is part of Digital Jersey's wider mission to enhance digital education in the community. It builds on previous initiatives such as the Thinking as a Coder course and the F1 in Schools programme.
