On March 21, 2025, Shanghai introduced “Ge Wu,” a high-performance AI simulation platform designed to accelerate the transition of humanoid robots from research labs to real-world use. The system integrates advanced reinforcement learning frameworks and multimodal motion control technologies, allowing robots to learn and adapt to new tasks efficiently. Remarkably, “Ge Wu” supports over 100 types of robots without the need for additional programming, making it a breakthrough in automation.

The city has applied to establish a specialized subcommittee within the ISO/TC299 (Robotics Technical Committee) to focus on humanoid robot standardization.
