In April 2025, China is set to launch AI-powered rubber-tapping robots in Hainan Province. Developed by the Chinese Academy of Tropical Agricultural Sciences, these robots are designed to tackle the region’s labor shortages in the rubber industry.
These robots utilize AI, laser radar, and multi-sensor technology to automate the tapping process, significantly improving efficiency. Capable of tapping up to 120 trees per hour, they provide a cost-effective alternative to human labor.
